The body of the New England native killed on her first day as a police officer in Virginia is now back home.

Officers met the plane at the airport in Westfield Wednesday afternoon to escort the officer’s body to a funeral home in Agawam.

Ashley Guindon was one of three officers shot in Virginia on Saturday while responding to a domestic dispute.

She had been sworn into the Prince William County Police Department just the day before.

The two other officers involved are expected to recover.

A wake for Officer Guindon will be held Sunday.
