(WHDH) — Get the birthday cake emoji ready, Sunday marked the 25th anniversary since the first text was sent.
Engineer Neil Papworth sent the first text message on Dec. 23, 1992, saying “Merry Christmas.”
The number of text messages sent in an average month now-a-days in the United States is 781 billion.
