A new study finds regularly drinking sugary drinks may lead to early puberty for girls.

Researchers wanted to see if the drinks affected when puberty begins, as earlier menstruation is linked to an increased risk of breast cancer later in life.

The study found girls who consumed more than one and a half daily servings of sugary drinks got their first period almost three months earlier than girls who rarely drank them.
