BOSTON (WHDH) - Former Massachusetts Senator and Secretary of State John Kerry received a royal honor from the king of England.

King Charles III gave Kerry an honorary knighthood for his role in tackling climate change.

As he is not British, Kerry cannot receive an actual knighthood and he will not be bestowed the title of Sir.
