A Randolph man pleaded not guilty Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting outside a bar in Randolph.
The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. Wednesday, outside of the City Limits Saloon on North Main Street. Police said the suspect, 36-year-old Gregory Wright, waiting for the victim to leave the bar. The victim, 23-year-old Drake Scott, had performed at the bar’s open mic night.
Assistant District Attorney Greg Connor said Wright shot Drake as he left the bar. Connor described it as an "execution-style murder" and said there was no explanation for it.
