COLLEGE PARK, MD (WHDH) — A bus driver came to the rescue when a school bus full of children caught fire.

The fire happened around 4:45 p.m. in College Park, Maryland.

Fortunately, the driver was able to get all 20 children off the bus unharmed.

Investigators said it appears the fire started at the left rear wheel before spreading through the bus.

The exact cause has not been determined.

The fire department credits the driver with acting calm while evacuating the children safely.
