Police in Worcester are turning to the public for help as they continue to investigate the discovery of charred human remains that were found on Tuesday morning inside a burned vehicle.

Authorities believe a 2004 Buick LeSabre could have been driving in the area sometime before a burning vehicle was found at Hope Cemetery. They said the car may have had all of its windows down.

Fire crews responded at around 8:30 a.m. to the cemetery for a report of a car fire and found a sedan engulfed in flames. Investigators later found a body inside the vehicle.

Police say they are investigating the incident as a “suspicious death.” The victim’s name has not been released.

No other details regarding the discovery have been released.

Anyone who may have seen the car between Monday night and Tuesday morning is asked to contact police.

The incident is under investigation.
