GLOCESTER, R.I. (WHDH) - Police in Glocester, Rhode Island are urging parents to inspect their kids’ Halloween hauls this year after they seized dozens of THC-infused edibles that could easily be mistaken for kids’ snacks.

The department wrote on Facebook that, during a traffic stop, they seized over 200 individually wrapped edibles with names like “Cocoa Pebbles Krispie Bar,” “Trix Krispie Bar” and “Rice Krispies Treats.” Each of them was emblazoned with a lookalike color palette, logo and mascot to the original inspiration. Upon closer inspection, Fred Flintstone and the Trix rabbit on the packages have red, drooping eyes. The Trix and Cocoa Pebbles bags have a large warning on the bottom of the package about their THC content.

“With Halloween coming up, we wanted to share this to the community,” the department wrote. “These treats can easily be mistaken for the popular name brand snacks that you could purchase in the store. Always inspect your child’s candy before allowing them to eat it! Thank you & stay safe.”
