Fearless Figo the service dog risked his own life to save his owner, who is blind.
According to police, the woman was about to be hit by a school bus when Figo’s instincts kicked in and he did whatever he could to save the woman.
The 8-year-old Golden Retriever is the guide and companion of Audrey Stone, who is legally blind.
The pair were crossing the street when a school bus came their way. The dog immediately threw himself in harm’s way. The tire of the bus and the pavement below was covered in Figo’s fur, which had been stripped from his leg.
The dog didn’t yelp in pain, instead he calmly stayed with his owner.
He was taken to a vet who said Figo’s behavior is remarkable, even for a service animal.
