NASHUA, N.H (WHDH) - Emergency crews pulled an SUV out of the Nashua River on Monday after the vehicle’s driver dropped a cigarette.

Nashua Fire and Rescue teams responded to the Mines Falls boat ramp following reports that a 2016 Dodge Journey SUV was in the water.

The vehicle’s owner says he was on the ramp, facing the water, when he says he dropped a cigarette in his lap. He jumped out of the vehicle, which rolled into the river.

Crews spent an hour and a half removing the vehicle. Nobody was hurt.

Officials say they are still investigating the incident.
