Lauderdale Lakes, FL (WHDH) — Authorities im South Florida are on the lookout for two men who spent their Thanksgiving breaking into a restaurant.

They took several cash registers, but they couldn’t break the restaurant owner’s holiday spirit.

Owner Chris Brown was left cleaning up the broken glass and the mess inside the family business

Cameras caught the men walking up to the restaurant, breaking in and the getaway car they used in the parking lot.

“HD Video is something, and you guys are definitely going to get caught,” said Brown. “It is sad you have to do it on such a day like today.”

The owners say they got away with $2,000.

Even with the mess inside his restaurant, Chris said he isn’t going to let these burglars ruin his Thanksgiving.

He is loading up his food truck to deliver food to the poor on this holiday.

“Going out and giving back, it just brings a warmth,” said Brown. “It isn’t what you can make, or what you can take, it is what you guys can give. That is what really counts and makes things special.”

Brown spent the rest of his Thanksgiving boarding up his eatery.
