A funny feeling led to new clues in an unsolved robbery in Leominster, and it’s all thanks to Jimmy Fallon.

The robbery happened last October at a bingo hall.

The break in the case was possibly spurred by a laugh line in a “Tonight Show” monologue.

Two masked men robbed the Leominster Knights of Columbus and got away with everything in the cash box.

Tom Duffy said the men took the money right out of his hands.

A GoFundMe page was set up, but the thieves were still on the loose. The community raised $1,400 from the people who originally donated to the fund.

While the community was generous, “Tonight Show” host Fallon may have given one of the greatest gifts: a joke that helped cops zero in on the suspects.

“Police in Massachusetts are looking for thieves who stole $1,400 from a cash box at bingo night. Yeah, police say the men were last seen driving west on I-90,” Fallon said,
as he mimed putting a bingo ball away.

Sources told 7News one of the men involved in the robbery saw the Fallon joke and started bragging he was part of the stick-up crew.

Warrants have been issued for James Newbrough, Steven Nutting and Ruel Spence.

With the cops now on their trail, their victim may get the last laugh.
