A major milestone was reached in the Fore River Bridge Project.
A new lift span was installed over the bridge.
It will serve as a multi-transportation connection between Quincy and Weymouth–helping travelers get in and out of the city.
Overnight into Monday, the three-million-pound lift span floated on a barge to the bridge for Monday’s installation.
