Several residents were evacuated after a high rise caught fire at the Gloucester apartments in Boston.

It happened on Boylston Street just after midnight Sunday.

Flames and heavy smoke broke out in the building’s garbage chute.

Firefighters say several feet of trash built up in the chute and ignited, sending smoke to several floors.
