DALLAS (WHDH) — The Snowball Express, an annual event for the families of fallen military members, kicked off Sunday in Dallas, Texas.

The four-day party is held for the children, widows and parents of service members killed in action.

“It’s just incredible. You get to connect with families that are experiencing the same exact thing that you’ve gone through,” said Garth Peterson, whose son was killed in Afghanistan.

Some people have been coming for years and said it has become a family gathering to them. The event it put on with the help of donations from people and corporations from across the country.
