BOSTON (WHDH) - Former Suffolk Sheriff Steven Tompkins was found not guilty in a federal corruption trial.
A jury acquitted him of all charges on Wednesday.
He faced two extortion charges.
Federal prosecutors argued Tompkins used his position to extort $50,000 from the owner of a cannabis retailer.
