BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — A man authorities say traveled from Tennessee to Massachusetts with two accomplices to unlawfully sell weapons on the streets has been sentenced to up to five years in state prison.
Theodore Baskette, 21, was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty in Superior Court to nine counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, 10 counts of unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, The Enterprise of Brockton reports.
He is the second of the three men arrested in March 2019 to be sentenced. Domenic Barshaw, 19, pleaded guilty in June and was sentenced to five years in state prison. The case against the third man is pending.
They were arrested after a witness saw them hanging around their car with a duffel bag full of ammunition and a gun on top of the vehicle and called 911. The nine weapons found in the vehicle included an AK-47.
Authorities said the men intended to sell the guns on the streets of Brockton.
Defense attorneys in previous court hearings said the men were unaware of Massachusetts gun laws.
