MBTA transit police have arrested two men for attempting to sell a victim his stolen bike back.

On March 14 around 5 p.m., members of the MBTA transit police were at the South Station Commuter Rail when they were approached by a victim of a bicycle larceny.

The victim explained his bicycle was stolen two days before from Back Bay Station. The victim said he found his bicycle on a Craigslist post advertising its sale and he contacted the seller.

The person who posted the bicycle online agreed to sell it and instructed the victim to meet at South Station Red Line entrance to conduct the transaction.

Shortly thereafter, officers saw two men, later identified as Patrick Concannon, 28 of Braintree, and Terry Carter, 28 of Boston, walking toward South Station with the bike.

Officers approached the men and placed them into custody for receiving stolen property.

The bicycle was returned to its rightful owner.

Concannon and Carter were transported to transit police headquarters.

The appeared in Boston Municipal Court on Tuesday.
