GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of the man struck and killed by a vehicle in Greenfield.

The Northwestern district attorney identified the man struck at about 7:15 p.m. Monday as 66-year-old Ivan Doncev.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness told The Recorder she looked in her rearview mirror and saw a man flip into the air “like a rag doll.” She said she and the operator of the vehicle that struck the victim called 911 while another woman administered CPR.

Another witness said the driver who struck the pedestrian appeared distraught.

The death is under investigation and no charges have been announced.
