HOUSTON (WHDH) — A police helicopter pilot in Texas dropped from the sky to tackle and arrest a suspect on the run.

The burglary suspect was running from police in Houston as the police chopper flew low to just a few feet off the ground and slowed him down with turbulence from the helicopter. When the police officers in the helicopter saw the suspect run into the police cruiser, they said they went for it.

One of the officers jumped from the chopper and ran after the suspect. He said apprehending him was not easy.

“Once I tackled him on the ground, he got up and started resisting,” said Houston Police Sgt. Steven Borgstedte. “I fought him until the other officer helped me take him into custody.”

A second burglary suspect was also apprehended on the ground.
