WOBURN, MASS. (WHDH) - A Woburn toddler’s death is under investigation by police.

Sources tell 7News the 15-month-old boy named Noah and his twin sister were being watched at an apartment on Kilby Street by a 24-year-old family friend who also has a toddler of her own. According to the fire department call log, emergency responders were called to the apartment Monday afternoon because Noah was unresponsive but breathing.

Noah was taken to Winchester Hospital before being transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital. He died Thursday night. The Middlesex County District Attorney said Noah suffered a fractured skull.

7News has also learned that Noah’s twin sister was hospitalized Tuesday after the Department of Children and Families was notified. Sources said she had an undisclosed injury that left her in a cast.

Noah’s parents live near the baby-sitter and posted a sign on their door requesting prayers and privacy. The Department of Children and Families said it has had no prior involvement with the family. At this time, DCF has taken custody of Noah’s twin sister, along with two other children.
