A 2.9-magnitude earthquake was felt in New Hampshire on Monday.
The earthquake was recorded just northwest of Contoocook and Concord around 9:18 a.m.
According to the United States Geological Survey, moderately damaging earthquakes strike somewhere in New England every few decades and smaller earthquakes are felt roughly twice a year.
East of the Rockies, an earthquake can be felt over an area as much as ten times larger than a similar magnitude earthquake on the west coast.
