WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Worcester man suspected of stabbing another man during what police are calling a road rage confrontation has been held on $100,000 bail.

Homell St. Charles pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.

Police say the suspect and the victim were in vehicles heading in opposite directions Sunday night when the suspect’s car cut off the victim’s vehicle when both were turning into the same street.

The 43-year-old victim had multiple stab wounds and was taken to the hospital, where he is recovering.

A defense lawyer argued for lower bail, saying there was no indication of blood on a knife recovered from St. Charles’ vehicle and one witness said St. Charles was not the stabber.
