Two men were arrested for alleged drug distribution in Tewksbury Thursday, according to Tewksbury police.

Police charged 40-year-old Edwin Maldonado-Santos of Lawrence and 27-year-old Edward Cordero-Pinales of Methuen with distribution of cocaine and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

Cordero-Pinales was also charged with possession of cocaine. Maldonado-Santos was also charged with failure to stop for police, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and furnishing a false name to police.

According to police, Cordero-Pinales had a warrant out of Concord District Court for possession of a Class B substance and furnishing a false name to police.

Police said they witnessed the two suspects perform a drug deal on Delehanty Drive near Whipple Road. Maldonado-Santos did not initially stop for police. When he did stop, cocaine was found.

During the booking process, police discovered Maldonado-Santos used a false name and provided a Puerto Rican ID of Jose Feliciano.

Both suspects were arraigned Friday at Lowell District Court.
