WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Worcester man has been acquitted of murder charges in the 2014 shooting death of a 19-year-old man.

The Worcester Superior Court jury on Thursday found 23-year-old Dominic Bonneville not guilty in the October 2014 slaying of Christian Obeng. Bonneville was ordered released from custody.

Bonneville was accused of shooting Obeng during a confrontation outside an apartment building.

Prosecutors said the shooting was gang-related. They alleged Bonneville and two other men went to the complex and banged on the window, challenging the residents to come outside. Obeng was shot in the back of the head.

Bonneville’s lawyer argued her client wasn’t at the scene when Obeng was gunned down and said there was no physical evidence linking Bonneville to the shooting.
