Darrelle Revis’ time with the Patriots is likely coming to an end.

The free agent market officially opened at 4 o’clock and there are reports he’s set to sign with another team.

7News’ Joe Amorosino says there are reports Revis is set to sign with another team.

He and the Patriots were unable to work out a long-term deal by 4 p.m., meaning Revis has hit the open market, where he’ll be offered plenty of green. The Jets are reportedly coming after Revis.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the sense around the Patriots is that Revis is ready to rejoin the team that drafted him, the New York Jets, but that the Patriots are still planning one final push to keep their all-pro cornerback.

The Patriots declined Revis’ 2015 option, one that carried with it a $25 million cap hit, to allow him to test the waters, and in doing so, may have allowed “Revis Island” to move back to the meadowlands.

The entire Pats secondary could have a different look, with reports saying the team has also declined Brandon Browner’s option, making him a free agent as well.

The team reportedly allowed the big corner to “explore his value” around the league before cutting him loose, and now it appears he’ll get a chance to see what’s out there.

One person who is definitely a goner is Shane Vereen, who has reportedly agreed to a 4-year deal with the New York Giants that will earn him something in the area of $16 million.

So the games have begun, and the Super Bowl champions are well on their way to having a much different look on defense next fall. But this time of year, everything can change with one phone call.
