Wow, what a difference 24hrs make! There is certainly no frost on the windshield this morning as temperatures kick off the day running near 50 degrees. Not only is it a much milder start, it’s a dry start, and that means an enjoyable afternoon is ahead of us as highs nudge into the mid to upper 60s. Light jackets this morning to no jackets this afternoon! Perfect for those soccer or lacrosse practices or those late season tee times.

Milder air remains in place tonight with lows only falling back into the lower 50s for most. Although, as winds turn north, some cooler air drains in late, allowing for some upper 40s north of the Mass Pike.  With winds turning north tonight for some, it’ll set up a tricky temp forecast tomorrow as highs are dictated by the ever important wind direction. Where the wind stays north, we stay in the 50s, where the wind turns/stays south, we’ll kick it back into the mid to upper 60s. Most likely locations to achieve the warmer temps will be near and south of the Pike.  North of the Pike, it’ll be cooler with the Merrimack Valley and southern N.H. likely staying in the low to mid 50s. How about the rainfall? Aside for a couple of showers near the MA/NH border in the morning, most of the showers wait until the afternoon to work on in.  They’ll be more widespread mid to late afternoon across northern Mass and Southern NH and limited farther south. South of the Pike, many towns stay dry through mid afternoon with the best chance for a passing shower or rumble of thunder late-day or at night for those locations.  Generally, rain totals run 0.25″-0.50″ across southern NH and northern MA, with most towns near and south of the Pike picking up less than that.

The front clears on out by Friday morning and in it’s wake, it’s a breezy day with highs in the low to mid 50s by midday, likely fading back into the mid to upper 40s by mid to late afternoon. Clocks back 1hr on Sunday… booooooo the 4:31pm sunset.

The weekend looks cool, but not that far below seasonal levels. Sunday with be cooler and breezy than Saturday with some more clouds.
Milder air works back in for Election Day… 60s are back by then!

Have a good one, enjoy the milder air.
