Biography
Morey Hershgordon is the weeknight Sports Anchor at 7News. He joined the 7Sports team in September, 2023.
For more than 5 years Morey covered all the Boston teams for WPRI in Providence, RI where he became the city’s youngest Sports Director. He covered the 2018 Red Sox World Series, the Patriots in Super Bowl LIII, the Bruins run to the Finals in 2019 and the Celtics run to the Finals in 2022. He also traveled with the Providence College men’s basketball team as they won their first ever Big East regular season championship and advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2022. The National Media Sports Association named Morey the RI Sportscaster of the Year in 2021.
Morey also has extensive experience as a public address announcer. He was the in-arena voice for The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) Northeast Regional, Sweet 16, and Elite Eight games which were broadcast live on ESPN.
Morey graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He enjoys exploring all Boston has to offer with his wife Sierra and their golden retriever Archie.
